HBO Picks Up Mini-Series Based on James M. Cain’s Mildred Pierce
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that HBO has picked up a 5-hour mini-series based on the classic 1941 noir novel Mildred Pierce by James M. Cain. Kate Winslet will star as the titular character in the series, with production to begin in April in New York. Mildred Pierce was also made into a film in 1945 starring Joan Crawford.
